A fire at a disused scrapyard on Doncaster Road in Consibrough was reported in the early hours of this morning.
One fire engine from the Edlington station attended the incident. On arrival, firefighters found 11 crushed cars were alight and the fire had spread to the surrounding trees. After taking precautions to protect the remaining woodland, the crew was able to extinguish the fire.
There were no casualties and the cause of the fire is thought to be deliberate.
