Fire at disused Doncaster club

More than 35 firefighters have been at the scene of a large blaze at a disused club in Doncaster.

 

Firefighters were called at 03.46am to the fire at Granby Working Mens Club, Broomhouse Lane, Edlington.

 

At the height of the incident six fire engines, an aerial ladder platform (ALP) and the technical rescue unit (TRU) dealt with the fire using three main jets and hose reels.

 

No persons were in the club, which was disused, and there have been no evacuations from nearby housing.

 

Broomhouse Lane remains closed this morning, with four fire engines currently still in attendance.

 

An investigation into the cause of the fire is expected to take place later today.
