Firefighters Raise Record Amount for Charity

Doncaster Station raised £1,200.00 during the Yellow Helmet Weekend which is a record amount for the area, and as a result Doncaster Firefighters would like to say a big thank you to all members of the public who showed their support for this worthy cause.

Firefighters from South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue were out and about in their local communities over the bank holiday weekend, raising valuable funds for a charity that helps injured firefighters and their families.

They were based in local supermarkets and town centres over the three day weekend, giving out novelty yellow helmets to the public for a small donation to the Fire Fighters’ Charity, while offering free home fire safety checks to members of the public.

The annual event has previously raised significant funds for the charity, and this year has proved to be no different.
