Fire investigators are looking into the cause of a blaze which caused extensive damage to a Barnsley supermarket.
The incident started in the early hours of Tuesday morning at D&S Supersave, on Richard Road, Smithies, and the fire spread throughout the ground and first floors, and into the roof.
A man, woman and girl who lived in the building all escaped unharmed but a woman who lived in an adjoining semi-detached house received treatment for minor smoke inhalation.
Green watch firefighters from throughout the Barnsley district were called to the incident at 3.30am. They tackled the blaze using breathing apparatus and hose reels, and removed most of the roof to use an aerial ladder platform.
Incident Commander Neil Baugh said: "The crews worked extremely well to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjoining property. We are looking into the cause of this incident."
